Our baby bug will turn ONE-YEAR-OLD in exactly one day short of one month.
I can hardly believe he’s been in our lives for one year. It only seems like three months. Now he babbles, watches Bubble Guppies, eats spaghetti, pulls up on his own, and scoots around the house on his booty. Where has time gone?!
He’s experienced the beach and ocean for the first time. Has his favorite foods. Prefers outdoors. Can get into anything and everything on his own (i.e. cabinets, drawers, baskets, under tables and chairs). Has taken his first step completely on his own. However, he still prefers to hold onto someone’s hand to walk/run. And this little dependence (along with all the little others) I’m holding onto for dear life. I know next week he’ll be starting Kindergarten. Playing t-ball. Or music and video games if Daddy has his way. Avoiding girls and cooties. Going to sleep without a bottle and without needing Mommy to cuddle him and rock him to sleep.
Okay, so maybe it won’t be next week. But with how fast this year has flown by, who’s to say what four years may seem like? Four months? And I want to cherish every moment…
Like watching him trying to pull up on his walker.
Or getting into drawers and cabinets.
Or being just plain silly.
These are all recent developments he’s made just over the past two months! Talk about time flying…
And there are no words for how thankful and grateful I am to have been able to witness his sweet life first-hand. Even more I look forward to seeing him grow into a little boy. To be able to experience more and more of his sweet life. To be a major part of it. Boy can’t deny he has my personality and temperment. :)
Be on the lookout for a birthday post coming soon! Whales, boats, chili, and cake… oh my!
